VICTORIAN STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE
VICSES is a volunteer based emergency service comprising of more than 5,500 volunteers. They are responsible for a wide range of roles including planning for and responding to floods, severe storms, earthquakes, road accident rescue as well as search and rescue. VICSES also provides a support role to other emergency service agencies such as CFA and Victoria Police. VICSES also have a major planning role providing support and guidance to Government departments and municipalities, as well as providing an audit role on all municipal emergency plans.

COUNTRY FIRE AUTHORITY
CFA is an integrated service combining both committed volunteers and career firefighters. The total population served by our brigades exceeds 2.5 million Victorians, covers approximately two thirds of the state and is spread over 1200 outer metropolitan and rural communities. The organisation's 65,000 members are involved in the provision of a range of emergency services to the community including firefighting, management of HAZMAT (hazardous materials) incidents, road accident rescue and the very popular and successful fire and community safety education programs.
